From some of our recent meetings it appears that the future is looking bright for those who prefer to work away from their offices. Geographical freedom is gaining traction as the internet allows everyone to do everything from everywhere.
While at the Center for Internet Excellence we were presented their work on “3D Internet”. This technology can be more simply described as an open source version of the Second Life platform. It would be intended to be used as a method of training through the Internet. They hope that the future will allow companies to have routine meetings through this unique method of interaction.
During our tour of Ericsson we were greeted by a unique looking robot. This device solves some of the issues that exist for those living in a “bubble boy” situation. The unit is a tool that is intended to allow remote workers or learners to interact in the physical environment.
