Can reduction in energy consumption incentivize LEED Certified builders to chose KONE elevators? KONE is betting yes. Hot off the launch of the new Monospace elevator, which reduces energy consumption by 20%, this Finland based company is committed to designing energy efficient elevators. Concept to production typically takes 7 years in this industry. Elevators, which typically make up 5 – 10% of total building energy consumption, can drive up facility costs.

The new Monospace is an environmentally conscientious decision, cost saving decision, and excellent branding choice for new buildings across Europe. KONE is one Scandinavian company taking the lead in innovative, environmentally sustainable innovations.

We had the pleasure of meeting with Pekka, the VP of Acquisitions when we went to KONE's head office in Helsinki, Finland.  The view from the top floor conference room was to die for.  I wouldn't mind coming to work everyday and being inspired by such a beautiful backdrop.

Pekka was kind enough to give us a presentation and told us all about their products and explain a little bit to us about the culture at KONE.
