Another day, another Swedish Krona (paid contactless of course). Our final two days in Stockholm consisted of both business and pleasure, using our brains and our singing voices. We were lucky enough to visit two amazing technology companies, and still had enough time to see some of Sweden’s creative feats.
Einride
On Friday, we began our day with a visit to innovative self-driving shipping truck company, Einride. Transportation for today and tomorrow, the firm focuses on digitalization, electric battery propulsion, and autonomous driving. During the presentation, we were able to give some input on the opportunities and challenges we believe Einride could experience. A main concern we had was with social trust, as autonomous driving could result in a loss of the current truck drivers’ jobs, and the worldwide perception of such an unmonitored technology. However, we do believe the firm could thrive due its efficiency-boosting strategy in less populated areas, and its ability to be a first mover in the autonomous truck driving technology.

Ericsson
Did you know that Ericsson built the first telephone? Us neither, probably because sadly they did not patent it in time. Still thriving, we visited Ericsson’s Headquarter Studio for a few hours and learned about the company’s evolution since its start in 1876 in Stockholm. Tony Uhlin, Customer Business Engagement Director, and Jan Söderström, VP of Advanced Technology, walked us through how Ericsson envisions the future of the 6G network. It was so fascinating to see all of the projects being worked on, and the results of the successes the company has already had. Though we cannot begin to grasp or explain the magnitude of Ericsson’s influence, we do believe them to be the industry leader in network and telecommunications and we can’t wait to see what they roll out next.
Free Day!
After a night filled with Filipino food and karaoke (shoutout to Professor Myhr’s brother David for the backup vocals, video not included), the Dancing Queens were free and ready to take on the day. Of course getting our beauty sleep, we started the day at noon and were off to visit the island of Långholmen. Walking through the fields of grass and beside the river, we enjoyed Stockholm’s scenic nature while also people-watching families spending their Saturdays together. Popsicle in hand, we hopped on the city boat and ventured to the ABBA Museum and Vasa Exhibit. From singing with Agnetha, Anna-Frid, Björn, and Benny to exploring the world’s only preserved 17th century ship, we took every second in. Ending the day with Nutella-filled churros, we dragged our feet back to the hotel in time to prepared for our next adventure, Copenhagen.
And though this is not where our story leaves off, it is where we will leave you… for now. Until next time, Hejdå Sweden, and Hej Denmark!
xoxo, The Dancing Queens.
