IMG_2288Rovio Entertainment is a Finnish game developer founded in 2003, and an industry-changing entertainment media company that is the creator of the globally successful Angry Birds franchise. Angry Birds, a casual puzzle game, became an international phenomenon within a few months of its release and is now the number one downloaded app of all time with over 2 billion downloads. Mind boggling? Yes! That's nearly 29% of the world's population. #worlddomination ? YES!

Rovio has created a world-class entertainment industry in Finland, which has become a significant local employer in Espoo, which is the the “Silicon Valley” of Helsinki, Finland. This firm has an open organizational culture that welcomes new ideas and suggestions for improvements at all levels, and is constantly looking to innovate and grow along with its employees. Rovio has grown exponentially alongside Angry Birds into a multifaceted entertainment house that currently employs about 850 professionals across it's offices around the world.

The US Branch is located in Santa Monica and one of the biggest offices out side of Finland and expanding because of the great marketing opportunities that exist in the entertainment capital of the world that exists in southern region of California, specially in Los Angeles. However US is never used as a test market for new product testings. Canada is used most often for soft launches since it's very close to America but much smaller market. It gives Rovio the opportunity to test the products in a market with very similar preferences as the US market, and at same time on much smaller scale.

Currently Rovio has two revenue sources; games advertising and consumer product listening. Following the huge success in mobile gaming, Angry Birds quickly expanded in entertainment, publishing, and licensing to become a beloved international brand. There are two main part of the business for Rovio:

1) Digital entertainment: the actual game itself, the movie 2016 , digital services, cloud platforms and ads.

2) Consumer products: consumer product licensing (toys, daily goods, apparels), physical location (activity parks and retailers).
