A Sweet Treat

While we visited the small town of Piteå, we were immediately exposed to the culture of the close knit town.  There were tons of people lining the streets celebrating high school graduations, and parades with trucks filled of recent graduates in sailor hats.  Spirits seemed to be high, and from the get go we knew wed’d like the town.  We decided to walk around town and see what it had to offer and we were both so pleasantly surprised.  The cute shops, stores, and restaurants lined the streets and alleyways  and they had everything from franchised stores to  unique clothing boutiques.  It seemed as if around every corner was another great photo opportunity.
What we really enjoyed most was going into this one of a kind mom-and-pop bakery, Ekbergs Konditori.  We were immediately greeted with a smile by a friendly young woman, who we spoke with for a couple minutes.  The delectable treats in the cases definitely caught our eyes as the colors popped and our mouths watered.  We thought the variety of desserts were atypical, extremely detailed, and the best part – culturally specific.  We saw several cakes in the shape of sailor hats to match those of the high school graduates and different Swedish wedding cake toppers.  The bakery was pleasant to the eyes and nose and enjoyed our experience there.
