They are headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden and have sales offices worldwide. Patients tend to suffer from side effects from bandages but Molnlycke provides a solution of an in-house invention called Safetac Technology that reduces both pain and tissue damage in wound management. There are regulations that prevent them from talking about their products via social media. Therefore, they rely on their customers to provide positive feedback to each other about the new products along with the company’s research to support more studies.

“Believe” is a campaign for breast cancer Molnycke is very proud of. One in eight women suffer from breast cancer and 80 to 90 percent of breast cancer patients suffer from side effects of skin reactions. Their Mepitel Film, which is a Safetac product, prevents moisture declamation, stops friction, stays on during showers and radiation treatments. The Believe Campaign came about through the process of concept development, generating objectives, selecting target groups, initial idea workshop, and choosing a concept. They chose the word “believe” because it is a powerful and emotional word, people believe skin reactions can be prevented, Molnlycke believes in their products because they have clinical evidence, and people need something to believe in through difficult times. Due to the quality of their products and their campaigns, customers are able to enjoy a higher quality of life and decreased amount of pain. One customer posted on Twitter: “I am in love with you guys since I recently discovered Mepitel – it has made my life (and wound recovery so SO much better!” These positive posts on social media from their customers create buzz for the company and increases awareness of their products. As such, they are able to utilize social media even with strict restrictions.
